Who is Sherrod N Conyers?

The Early Years

Honorable Sherrod Nathan Conyers hails from the charming town of Paxville, South Carolina, where he graduated from Manning High School in 1997. He then ventured to Tuskegee University, where he earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Plant/Soil Science and Chemistry in 2002. It was there he also earned his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army, proving that he could not only analyze soil but also lead soldiers!

After furthering his education with an Executive MBA in 2009 and snagging a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, he was ready to take on the world or at least navigate a few spreadsheets.

Military Service

During his 4.5 active-duty years, Sherrod was deployed twice to Jordan and Iraq, holding multiple leadership positions, including Executive Officer, Company Commander, Brigade Combat Team Manager, and Material Officer. Think of him as the Swiss Army knife of military leadership—versatile, dependable, and occasionally sharp!

Out of the Uniform

Currently, Sherrod is a consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton and the Defense Health Agency (DHA) as a Senior Health IT Wave Manager. In this role, he supports the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in rolling out the MHS GENESIS electronic health record system. He works closely with the DoD Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) Program Management Office to ensure that the deployment and operational sustainability of MHS GENESIS Wave Deployments and legacy systems run smoother than a well-oiled machine.

Sherrod resides in Marietta, GA, with his spouse and two kids, who keep him on his toes and remind him that even the most complex projects can’t prepare you for parenting!
